From left to right, Joyce Maker, Representative for District 31, Cynthia and Art Carter of Charlotte who have been Down East Hospice volunteers since 1996. Mr. & Mrs. Carter received the Official Expression of Sentiment on behalf of the 125th Legislature and the People of the State of Maine which stated, "Mr. and Mrs. Carter have served on the Board of Directors and the Fundraising Committee of Down East Hospice and have written grants and volunteered to assist with and comfort individuals suffering from terminal illnesses".
